Overview

The YJV 3.6/6 kV power cable is a copper conductor, XLPE insulated and PVC sheathed cable for medium voltage AC power distribution. It provides a screened connection for fixed electrical installations in industrial facilities, substations and infrastructure projects. Its construction combines electrical insulation, metallic screening and an external protective sheath in a cable designed for permanent installation. The copper conductor carries the operating current, while the cross-linked polyethylene insulation provides electrical separation between the conductor and its surrounding screen. A semiconductive conductor screen and a semiconductive insulation screen help create smooth electrical interfaces and control electric field distribution. Copper tape screening provides the metallic screen around the insulated conductor. The PVC outer sheath encloses the cable assembly and provides protection during handling, installation and normal service. Internal filling and binding materials help maintain the assembled cable profile. This layered construction supports installation along planned cable routes and connection to compatible medium voltage joints, terminations and distribution equipment. The rated voltage is U₀/U = 3.6/6 kV: 3.6 kV between the conductor and earth or metallic screen, and 6 kV between phase conductors. XLPE insulation permits a maximum continuous conductor temperature of 90°C under specified operating conditions. The maximum short-circuit conductor temperature is 250°C for a duration not exceeding five seconds, subject to the applicable cable specification and protection design. Typical installation locations include indoor electrical rooms, cable trenches, tunnels and ducts. The unarmoured construction is intended for routes where the cable is adequately supported and protected against mechanical damage. These applications include connections between transformers, switchgear and other medium voltage distribution equipment within industrial and infrastructure networks. For project selection, conductor cross section, current-carrying capacity, voltage drop and short-circuit duty should be matched to the electrical design. Installation conditions, grouping, ambient temperature and the selected accessories also affect the final cable specification. With its copper conductor, XLPE insulation, copper tape screening and PVC sheath, YJV 3.6/6 kV offers a conventional construction for planned medium voltage distribution systems.
