YJLHV22 8.7/15kV Aluminum Alloy XLPE-Insulated Armored MV Cable

Aluminum-alloy (AA-8030 series) conductor offers most of aluminum`s cost advantage with significantly better terminal creep behavior — addressing the failure mode that gives pure-aluminum MV cable a reputation for connection problems. Sized at 8.7/15kV with copper-tape screen, steel-tape armor, PVC outer sheath.

Overview
AA-8030 series aluminum alloy conductor (annealed temper), triple-extruded XLPE insulation system, copper-tape metallic screen, PVC bedding, double-tape galvanized steel armor, PVC outer sheath. The alloy conductor has a yield strength roughly 1.5× pure aluminum, which markedly reduces creep at lugs and terminations — historically the dominant failure mode of pure-Al MV cables.
Key Features
Creep-resistant conductor
AA-8030 alloy holds lug torque over years of service — addresses the loose-termination failure mode of pure-Al cable.
Aluminum cost advantage retained
Conductor metal cost approximates pure aluminum — saves vs copper MV cable for large cross-sections.
Applications
Renewable plant MV collection
33kV solar farm collection circuits, wind turbine pad-mount transformer connections.
